CYP2D6
HGNC ↗11 article(s) in the watch · Pharmacogenomics
CYP2D6 is one of the major drug-metabolising enzymes, involved in roughly a quarter of prescribed drugs (antidepressants, antipsychotics, opioids such as codeine, tamoxifen). Its genetic polymorphism defines metaboliser phenotypes (poor, intermediate, normal, ultrarapid) with major pharmacogenetic implications (CPIC guidelines).
Drugs involved: codeine and tramadol (opioids), tamoxifen, tricyclic antidepressants, SSRIs (paroxetine, fluvoxamine), atomoxetine, ondansetron
Recommendation: CPIC level A · RNPGx advised (antidepressants)
